There are of course other risk factors that you should consider for heart disease, especially if you are overweight or obese. You want to ask your doctor if you are obese, or if you are overweight with a high waist circumference, or if you are overweight without a high waist circumference.

If your BMI results or waist circumference state that you are overweight, it is imperative that you avoid gaining any more weight and work to lose weight. If you are obese, you should absolutely lose weight in order to be healthy.

Half of the families entered a five-month education program with kids in tow, while the other 40 families attended parents-only classes. At the beginning and end of the five-month term, and at a follow-up six months later, researchers measured both parents’ and children’s body size as well as the kids’ daily caloric intake and physical activity.”
